At Coast to Coast Concessions & Catering, we are inspired by the diversity of flavors and cultures around the world. I did not grow up visiting the fair once a year. I grew up living it!
My parents owned game concessions and traveled with Smokey’s Greater Shows, so the midway was part of my everyday life. From five years old, for seven summers, my little brother and I traveled throughout the Northeast. When we weren’t on the road, we were going to school living with our Mema, Aunt Angie, and Uncle Neil.
The lights. The music. The smell of food in the air. The long days and even longer nights. I watched my parents work hard. I saw the pride they took in what they did. I learned early that behind every ride, every booth, every food stand, there were families building a life.
Food was always at the center. It brought people together at the end of a long, hot day. It made strangers sit side by side. It created small moments that people remembered.

My Dad (far left), my Momma (center) and George Mitford (far right) He was another concessionaire for Smokey’s Greater Shows.

My Dad he is a character! Doug, not my natural Father (he passed) but he raised me from 5 years old and loved me through all my ugly teenage years. I was a teenager in the 80’s and we lived in Ft Lauderdale. I was at the strip every chance I got!

I just think my Mother is so gorgeous in this photo, it’s one of my favorites of her. My 4th daughter Alea Rose, I think really resembles my Momma here.

My Dad Doug, he operated the hula hoop game. He had the BEST prizes, winners had their choice of huge Looney Tunes Characters. He would have me walk around the midway with one on my shoulder. When people would ask where I won it, I’d tell them where😉

I look like I ate my brother here lol. I think it was this season of my life that created the very low poor self imagine I carried through my life. ~pic taken at one of the fairs.
I wanted a food truck from the rip! I didnt have enough cash for one and refused to finance one. The Corn Roaster idea actually originated from my Momma.
So everyone knows my Mom still loves the fair. The lights, the smells, the carny talk LoL and especially the fair food! The walking up and down the midway just to take it all in. Welp every year either my Brother or I would bring her to the County Fair. It was 2021, she was at the Fair I think I was working. She sent me pictures of this corn roaster and talked about how sweet the corn was. She said she sat there eating it, watching the never ending line enjoying her corn on the cob. She sent me pictures of their set up and said, “Gay, you have gotta do this.”
The Seed was planted!
Four years later, The Corn Stars was born.
When I stand behind that roaster I feel my childhood. I feel my parents' work ethic. I hear my mom's voice telling me I could do it. I feel forty years of experience standing quietly behind me…
This business is not just about corn.
It is about courage.
It is about faith.
It is about finally choosing myself!

Our corn is harvested daily from local sources!

Simply fresh roasted corn on the cob! Seasoned the way you like it.

Our fresh roasted corn, first we dunk it in butter then we brush it with the real mayonaise, next we generously roll it in authentic cojita cheese, and top it off with tajin, salt, pepper and fresh cilantro (optional).

Prepared just like our street corn only we add one more step! After we dunk it in butter and brush it with mayo we generously coat it with flaming hot cheeto dust. We sprinkle it with cojita cheese then top it off with tajin, salt and pepper.
What is an Elote' you ask? It's simply corn in a cup!

First step, we roast the corn, then remove the husk and thresh the corn into a bowl. Next we add butter, mayonaise, lime juice, add a lil tajin seasoning, mix it all together, then top it with authentic cojita cheese, sprinkle a lil more tajin on top and add some fresh cilantro and a slice of lime.

First step, roast the corn then we remove the husk, thresh the corn into a bowl. Next we add a generous amount of butter and seasoning of your choice.

Did you know that there is one silk strand for every kernel of corn on an ear of corn? Each tiny grain of pollen from the tassel must land on each silk for each kernel to develop!
